Stationary or Stationery?

Assalamualaikum dan Selamat Berpuasa! Apa khabar semua?

Maksud:

1. stationary: not moving (tidak bergerak)

Example sentences:

i) My brother hit a motor-cyclist then collided with a stationary car.
ii) Far away on the horizon, a stationary ship floated.
iii) When learning to shoot we begin with a stationary target before we try to hit a moving target.

2. stationery: writing materials (alatulis)

Example sentences:

i) I can buy cheap stationery from that bookstore.
ii) The manager was angry because his staff took office stationery for their personal use.
iii) When I need pens and pencils, I just find them in the stationery department.
Today's Phrasal Verb: Keep down

Meaning: to control, to suppress, to decrease

Example sentences:

1. I need to find some kind of chemical that will keep down the weeds in the garden.

2. The villagers tried every way to keep the rats down.

3. Please keep the noise down in this room!

4. The juice was so horrible that he struggled to keep it down. (to control not to vomit)
